A garden cart is a piece of gardening equipment which is designed to be used as a carrier for various objects around the garden. Garden carts can be very useful tools for gardeners, especially when they are working on major gardening projects. Garden carts come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Older versions were often metal or wood and included holed-out sections that could carry flower pots, potting soil, shovels, and other necessities of gardening and yard keeping. Today, most of them are plastic and made more to resemble wagons. Some models even have compartments to help organize your garden tools, and even built-in areas to sit down while gardening. A good cart makes it easy for one to move from pruning shrubs to weeding the garden, from potting a plant to clipping some flowers.
Garden carts are considerably more stable because of their two wheeled design, making them well suited for transporting material over bumpy terrain. A garden cart is the better choice for small children, elderly and handicapped gardeners because there is less chance of losing control of the cart. A good quality garden cart is a significant investment, however, so a simple wagon may be a better alternative for the casual gardener.
