Low Maintenance Indoor House Plants
House plants can do a lot to bring charm to your home. House plants can be soothing because of their visual impact. Besides being naturally appealing, interior house plants can make you feel cooler on hot days, especially when they move softly in the breeze from a ceiling fan. Low maintenance house plants are great for beginning gardeners as well as people who are busy and tend to forget to water their indoor greens. There are several low maintenance house plants. And here are two of them. Succulents store water in their leaves, stems and roots, and they do not require frequent watering to survive. They also do well with very little light. Some of them, such as aloe vera, are susceptible to overwatering. Succulent plants include: aloe vera, agave, jade plant, moonstones and the chihuahua flower.
Another low maintenance house plants is cacti. Cacti are similar to succulents in that they need little water, but they do require a bit more light. Cacti do best placed next to windows or in rooms where artificial lighting can help them survive. Cacti are prickly, and like succulents, they store water in their trunks and roots. Cacti varieties include rat’s tail, living rock, sand dollar, monk’s hood and desert barrel.
